I am so grateful for the impact that Student Leadership Discovery (SLD) has had on my daughter’s life. At seminar meetings, students engage with inspiring speakers who offer training on leadership skills and current cultural issues. Through this remarkable program, my daughter interns weekly at the South Carolina State House. Additionally, she attended leadership training in Washington D.C., where she met congressmen and other national leaders, explored college internship opportunities in D.C., and more. Although my daughter is keenly interested in politics, SLD customizes its offerings to align with each student’s interests and life goals. SLD provides leadership training, Biblical worldview training, service opportunities, and career self-assessments. It also offers optional internships, mentorships, and job shadowing experiences. My daughter has greatly benefited from the diverse opportunities SLD has provided, allowing her to connect with local and state leaders and marketplace professionals. Moreover, it is an excellent platform for students to meet like-minded friends. I especially appreciate the program’s emphasis on Christian values, which equips and empowers students to make a positive, lasting impact on society.
